The Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation is a private charity launched in 2004 by the businessman Mikhail Prokhorov. The Foundation’s priority is the support and development of new cultural institutions and initiatives in Russia, as well the promotion of Russian culture in the global intellectual community.

The annual NOS literature prize was established in the year of the 200th anniversary of N. V. Gogol by the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation to reveal and support new trends in modern Russian literature. In accordance with the Foundation’s overall strategy the concept for this Prize combines both promotional and educational aspects.

Program for promotion of Russian literature and culture throughout the world «TRANSCRIPT». The support program for the translation of Russian fiction, poetry and non-fiction focuses on the financial support of translations of Russian texts in the liberal arts (history, philosophy, political science, sociology etc), as well as works of classic and contemporary fiction and poetry.

The Moscow International Bienniale of Young Art: STOP! WHO GOES THERE? Is one of the biggest and most ambitious project being implemented today on the Moscow arts scene. The Bienniale unites creative initiatives from throughout Russia, the CIS countries and the rest of the world. The II Moscow International Biennale “Stop! Who Goes There?” will be held in June 2010.
