Theatre is the main kind of performing arts. Dramatic art has specific features that make its unique products which have no analogues in the other genres and species of art. First of all, its a synthetic nature of the theater. Theatre production can easily include almost all other arts (literature, music, visual arts), and also use many accomplishments of the most diverse areas of science and technology.
The Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation together with the government of the Krasnoyarsk Krai and Krasnoyarsk City Administration, in partnership with the International Business Exhibition center “Siberia” and exhibition company “Krasnoyarsk Fair” holds November 3-7, 2010 an annual IV book fair in Krasnoyarsk.
The Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation and the International Chekhov Theatre Festival have announced the start of a new internship program for young theatre directors. The Internship will take place during the International Chekhov Theatre Festival dedicated to the 150th Anniversary of the great writer’s birth.
Since 2008 the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation has been the general partner of the New European Theatre festival which was started in the late 90s as the first private theatre initiative in Russia. Today the festival has become one of the most outstanding events in Moscow theatre life.
The Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation and the Small Drama Theatre have enjoyed long-standing creative links. The Fund is the theatre’s general partner, and also supports the Small Drama Theatre’s Youth Theatre Studio on a permanent basis.
In 2008 in Krasnoyarsk with the support of the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundadtion a new project was started – the festival: Drama. A New Code (DNK). Plays by young directors were performed by actors from the Krasnoyarsk Pushkin Drama Theatre. Each production ended with a discussion with the audience.
