Since 2008 the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation has been the general partner of the New European Theatre festival which was started in the late 90s as the first private theatre initiative in Russia. Today the festival has become one of the most outstanding events in Moscow theatre life.
In 2008 in Krasnoyarsk with the support of the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundadtion a new project was started – the festival: Drama. A New Code (DNK). Plays by young directors were performed by actors from the Krasnoyarsk Pushkin Drama Theatre. Each production ended with a discussion with the audience.
The Moscow International Bienniale of Young Art: STOP! WHO GOES THERE? Is one of the biggest and most ambitious project being implemented today on the Moscow arts scene. The Bienniale unites creative initiatives from throughout Russia, the CIS countries and the rest of the world. The II Moscow International Biennale “Stop! Who Goes There?” will be held in June 2010.
The Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation and the Small Drama Theatre have enjoyed long-standing creative links. The Fund is the theatre’s general partner, and also supports the Small Drama Theatre’s Youth Theatre Studio on a permanent basis.
Playing fields have been built and equipped at three sports schools for young people in Chuvashia and Vladimir and Amur Regions.Participation in this project of the Mikhail Prokhorov Foundation was marked by a national prize from the Russian football association in the nomination “For contribution to the development of football”.
